Actualización -- Combinacion de teclas para Unity (Ubuntu 11.04)
Yo uso la interfase gráfica Unity en mi Netbook desde que se lanzo exclusivamente para estos dispositivos en la versión 10.04, pues bien, en la ultima versión de Ubuntu la 11.04 (Natty Narval) es la interfase por defecto.
Para quienes andan un poco perdidos y no hallan como usar Unity aqui van las combinaciones de teclas básicas para su uso:
Super (Tecla windows) – Abre el menu de actividades
Super+A – Abre el menu de aplicaciones
Super+F1 – Pone el foco en el launcher. Use las teclas para elegir.
Super+W – Expo mode, Hace zoom out a todas las ventanas en todos los escritorios y te deja moverte por ellas
Shift+Alt+ Up- Expo mode pero solo para las ventanas en el escritorio actual.
Super+D – Minimiza todas las ventajas
CTRL+Alt+Left/Right/Up/Down – Cambia de escritorio
Super+S – Expo mode, para administrar las ventanas
Super+F - Abre el menu de archivos y carpetas
Como muchos han podido notar la barra de aplicaciones de la derecha aunque demos varios clic sobre un lanzador, solo permite iniciar una instancia de cada aplicación por defecto, pero en caso de algunas aplicaciones es necesario tener varias instancias corriendo, en este caso se pueden iniciar mas instancias del programa dando clic con el botón central del mouse centro.

Ubuntu publica base de datos de hardware compatible
Aportas de ser lanzada la nueva versión de Ubuntu 11.04, Canonical publica una muy útil base de datos con la que se puede constatar si nuestro hardware es compatible con esta distribución

Disponible Beta Ubuntu 10.10
Ubuntu acostumbra lanzar 2 versiones al año una en Abril y otra en Octubre, pues ahora han puesto a disposición del publico la versión Beta de la 10.10 y como por costumbre los nombres van aumentando en orden alfabético el nombre elegido es Maverick Meerkat.
Aunque es una versión beta se puede probar el Live CD que viene con sutiles pero interesantes mejoras graficas y funcionales.

Nueva version de Ubuntu en pocos dias (10.04 Lucid Lynx)
La distribución mas popular de Linux para escritorios por estos días se prepara para el lanzamiento de su nueva versión 10.04 (la cual ya puede ser probada en su versión Beta 2).
La fecha oficial para el lanzamiento de la versión estable según el sitio web de Ubuntu se realizara el 29 de abril, pero desde ya se puede descargar la imagen ISO del CD de la versión Beta 2 para probarlo y contribuir con las pruebas.
Se nota la preocupación en los aplicativos de la Nube (Ubuntu One) contara con: 1 GB de espacio gratuito e integrado como una unidad compartida, Sicnronización de los contactos, Tienda de música vía el reproductor multimedia, Mejoras a Ubuntu Single Sign On entre otros.
